bAR ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES aND COURTS ADMITTED TO PRACTICE
From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Steinglass was President of the New York Criminal Bar Association (“NYCBA”), a metropolitan-area organization of defense lawyers.
He was in charge of NYCBA’s continuing legal education program for many years (1986-2005), which brought lawyers up to date on recent developments in criminal law, both state and federal. He served as editor of NYCBA’s newsletter. He was NYCBA’s delegate to the Network of Bar Leaders, where he served on the Executive Council and as a First Vice President. In 2008, he received NYCBA’s award for “his many years of outstanding and untiring service to the New York Criminal Bar Association.“
He has have served on several criminal justice committees of the New York City Bar Association and is currently a member of the Federal Bar Council’s Committee on Sentencing and Alternatives to Incarceration. He is a member of the Criminal Justice Sections of the New York County Lawyers Association, the Westchester County Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association. He is a member of the Labor and Employment Section of the New York State Bar Association.
He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
